Control Freak

It’s funny how quickly time fills up when you think you have nothing to do. It’s hard to believe that it’s almost June, and that in 6 months I will be back in school full time, and saying Goodbye to the Lighthouse for a few years. I can’t believe how much I love that job.

We had a staff retreat last week, where we took a temperament test and listened to someone talk about our temperaments. I am always a little weary of those personality tests, because I don’t like the idea of someone telling me the way I am supposed to be. Apparently that quality about me is part of my temperament. At one point the girl said, “All you Cholerics don’t believe me anyway.” That was true. After resigning myself to the fact that this stuff might be interesting, and I might learn something about myself, I found that I am a full-fledged Choleric. The workshop was actually on our strengths and weaknesses as Christians, and the point of taking the test was to identify our weaknesses so that we could pray about them and be more “Christ-like”. The objective was a good one, so it wasn’t like they were telling us how smart they were because they were able to figure us out. At first I took the test answering the questions as I feel today, and I tested as a Choleric. After that I realized that I took the test wrong, and I was supposed to take it focusing on my earliest memories as a child. I thought that I would go a different direction and be way less Choleric, but after taking the test correctly I ended up being way more Choleric than before. (I’m sure this is all very interesting to those of you who have no idea what I’ m talking about)

Heres a Twist

I was just talking to Koes, and asked me if I knew what day today was. After I said I didn’t know, he said he would give me three guesses, and if I guessed it right I would get 50 billion points, but if I guessed it wrong that the points would go to him. I thought this was a great idea, because I don’t have any points!

So, let the games begin. Anyone can offer me challenges, and just between us the winner will get points. You can offer me any amount of points you want, but I don’t have to accept your challenge. Good idea Koes!

Oh, by the way… Koes won.

I’m having a little trouble with the amazing quiz, but for now this will do. You have to love life’s forever unanswered questions.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Most creative answer wins 150 billion points.

I am a horrible person

For those of you who are playing the game with the letters, I realized that I left out one of the letters that I wanted you to use. Points will be given to all people who came up with 8 letter words for the other letters, unless someone can think of a nine letter word for those. The new letters are:

N T E D E T U S E I C— I left out the C before.

So, new game, same rules.

Today was Jessica’s mom’s wedding, and it was lovely. When people were arriving you could tell she was nervous because she was introducing everyone who walked in to everyone in the room, and she did it very quickly. It was great to see her so happy. Mike stayed calm and collected the whole time, but he looked really happy too. I didn’t manage to get a picture of Frankie and Mike, but I did get a few good ones of Jessica and Craig, and one of me and Erin.

Three games in one

I was at Starbucks last night, and I came across this little promotion they are doing for that spelling bee movie. I don’t remember what it’s called. Anyway, they had little cards sitting out that had definitions to ridiculous words, and I decided to write a few down. Now you all can play some games with them.

Game 1: Matching
Be the first to match the words to the correct definitions and win 100 billion points.

Game 2: Short Essay
Use at least 7 of the words in a short story and win 200 billion points. Most creative story wins, but every entry receives points based on creativity.

Game 3: Guessing
Guess the word that I picked as my favorite and win 300 billion points

You never know

I was just writing a comment on Blake’s blog, and this question came to mind: Do you think it is more likely that I would…

1. Win American Idol
2. Marry John Cusack

I think both are extremely unlikely, but if you had to pick, which is more realistic? I’m not saying I really want to do either of these things necessarily, I just … wondered about it. I will put my answer up hidden and everyone who picks the same answer as I did will win 100 billiion points.

Question

If you had to pick one time of the day to get online, for only 30 minutes, and that would be the only time you could ever use the internet any day of your life, what time would it be?

I will immediately comment and leave it hidden. Later I’ll reveal it, and whoever picks the same time as me gets 300 million points. The amount of people who can win is unlimited.

It was something to talk about

The night was falling on Easter Sunday as I strode into my living room to settle down for Grey’s and Goodies. Loving friends surrounded me, and I was peaceful about the evening. We turned on ABC to find that What About Brian would be showing in Grey’s place. A minor stir drifted amongst us as we carefully planned what to do next. We gave the show a chance, and when it concluded my mind was clouded with confusion. My expectations for the show had been high, yet it failed to deliver. My heart began to ache. I knew I needed healing; something that would restore my faith in humanity. I decided on darts.
