Women do Shop

This post was written on Friday, September 29. Due to technical difficulties, it was not posted until today:

Yesterday I had the best shopping experience of my life, and it came totally unexpectedly. I ventured into Woodland Hills Mall with the intentions of finding something to wear to Jessica’s Bachelorette party and to the rehearsal dinner. I have nothing, so I knew that I needed a dress or skirt to wear to the Rehearsal, a top if I found a skirt, a skirt and fancy shirt to wear to the party, and possibly a pair of jeans if the skirt I found for the party was too fancy to wear after dinner. I would also need shoes, a strapless bra, and some accessories. I also wanted to find sales, because I’m poor.

I don’t know how I got to the point of not having a dress, skirt, any brown or black heels, or a strapless bra. Those seem like things every girl should have in order to survive, but I guess I’ve been doing alright. I felt pressured as I drove to the mall, knowing that if I didn’t find anything I would have to rummage around and ask people to borrow different things, and I was sick of that. I decided it was time for me to have at least two nice outfits. My venture started in Dillard’s. I immediately went to the section that had super cute clothes by BCBG Maxazria even though I knew they were out of my budget. I wanted to see if they had any sales going on. There were three racks of clothes that were 70% off, which made the clothes much more reasonably priced. I looked through the racks and I chose one dress and one skirt to try on. They had a bunch of cute shirts, but even on sale they were more expensive than a lot of things I would find at Express or the Limited that would look similar, so I opted to not even try any of them on. The dress was incredible, and the skirt was amazing, and they both fit me perfectly. I immediately purchased them. It was such an easy decision, and normally buying clothes for me doesn’t turn out to be that easy. I have never been this happy with a dress, except for maybe my prom dress or the black dress I wore in the pageant during the talent section. I will be wearing my new dress to the rehearsal on Thursday, and my skirt tonight to the party. The rest of the shopping went well too, except I didn’t find any shoes. Shoes are extremely difficult for me to find. I think it’s hard for me to see whether or not the shoes are going to look good with my outfit. I can’t see the big picture. Maybe I just need a little more practice.
