Future CEO of Star-Light Coffee/Rehab

Posted by molly

Today was the second day of school for the kids at work, and it has been a really great start with the exception of separation anxiety and the tears that accompany it. The kids are wonderful, and I am really excited about the year.

Today the courtship of Starbucks and the Lighthouse began. I guess it was a national event that Starbucks went to different schools and read “The Little Engine That Could”, so Jason set it up so that his Starbucks came to my kids. It was probably more fun for me than it was for them, because I loved knowing Jason got to walk around and see every kid in the school. He got to meet all the kids I had last year as he went to their different classes, and meet the new kids that I have now. There was a girl that came with Jason as well as a manager, and the girl apparently liked it a lot and wants to volunteer there. Speaking of volunteering, if anyone wants to volunteer ever and stay in my class or a different one, just let me know. It’s really a great experience, and it’s a lot of fun. Anyway, after the Starbucks gang left, one of the ladies in management came and asked me if I thought they would donate coffee for an event we have coming up, and to try to negotiate that deal or whatever. I felt like a savvy business woman surrounded by stuffed animals and fingerpaintings. I called Jason, and they basically said yes right away, and threw in servers. I know it wasn’t much, but it was my first business deal. I’m going straight to the top.
