My first movie

Posted by molly

Scene: A girl named Molly is angry and in an argument with a boy. He doesn’t seem to appreciate her wonderfulness. Despite his lack of admiration, she feels empowered and happy with herself. Here is her speech:

“The truth is, I do have a lot to offer. I try really hard at relationships, I am passionate about lots of things, I am understanding, accepting, fun, hard working, honest, and silly. I don’t like getting walked all over, and I like justice and closure. I love coffee, Rachmaninoff, the Counting Crows, hats, movies that make me smile, Bulldogs, and my brother. I love taking pictures, painting pictures, and hanging pictures on my walls. I love to look at things that are beautiful, and I love to create things that I feel are beautiful even if no one else agrees. I like presents, both giving and receiving, and I love to take road trips. If I could go anywhere in the world I would have a hard time deciding because there are so many places I want to go. I’m messy sometimes, I don’t care if my hair looks perfect before I leave the house, I only wear makeup on my eyes, and sometimes my clothes don’t match. I will wear the same pair of jeans more than once before washing them. I love science, especially biology, and I love to read about the lives of scientists. One of my favorite things to do is write and never show anyone the final prodcut. My favorite memory is eating oranges with my grandpa on a big brown chair, but sometimes it is dancing with my dad in our living room when I was little to Paul Simon. I love God, and I want to take the path he has set out for me. I want to serve him and love people while I do it, but that doesn’t always happen.”

That scenario is fake, by the way. I found this in an email I wrote to a friend in February. I just thought it was an interesting account of how I see myself, and I wanted to present it in the form of a short story. A very short story.
