Proud to be an American
When I was in Destin I went a few mornings with Jessica to Starbucks, where we read USA Today. I have always known I loved reading good newspapers. I appreciate them, but I found something in the USA Today that makes me very happy.
They have a section in every issue called “Across the USA”, where they tell news from every state. It consists of one bit of news from every state, usually about 50 words or so. The things they chose were incredible. If you had to choose one fact about Oklahoma every day to put in a newspaper, just one fact, which would you pick? How would you decide? Do you watch the news, do people call this person and say, “Hey I know you’re always looking for news, I’ve got some.” It seems like it would be a stressful job to chose one fact, however it seems that while some facts remain interesting, a few of the “choosers” of these facts have been getting a little lazy.
