few day getaway
Lawrence was lots of fun. I had a great time with Kylie and meeting all her friends up there. Here is a little photo journey of the trip.

This is what I stared at most of the way there. The trip was four hours, and a lot of it was two lane roads. I kept trying to pass this guy but cars wouldn’t stop coming from the other direction.

At one point I was completely stopped for 15 minutes, and these are the cows I watched while I waited.

The stop had something to do with this big machine, but I never figured out what was going on.

I stopped in a town and got a Coke out of this machine. It was on the side of a liquor store, and I wasn’t sure if it was going to work or not when I put in my money, but it did.

Here is Kylie with her boyfriend Chris. He was really cool. Way to pick ‘em Ky.

Before we went to the James Blunt concert we went to this bar.

Kylie told me to get a drink called a Shark Attack, and they actually gave me a little shark.

So we played with it.

This is the only picture I got of James Blunt, and it is horrible. I am a bad photographer.

Here’s Kylie at the concert probably looking for Chris. She looks lost without him.
Kylie put more pictures on Facebook that are really good too if you want to check them out. It was a really fun trip. I’m glad I got to run up there one more time before that kid graduates. Lawrence is a fun town.
Professional Web Designer
Tonight Shat put this design together for me. I picked a few of the colors and the picture, but I basically just sat there while he typed all kinds of crazy codes. I am really happy with the new look. It might not look like it, but he really changed a lot. I’m very fond of the font that my name is set to.
The beginning of the week went by very quickly. I have seen at least one person in my family every day, and it has been really nice. Tomorrow I get to see Kevin for the first time in a long time… that’s really all I have going on until work starts back up. I’m learning simple Spanish and sign language so I can talk to a few of the kids, which is fun. I have found that there are ways around verbal communication, but if I can do anything to better communicate with them it only helps their development, so I am going to do everything I can. I missed the kids a lot last week in Destin, and I miss them even more this week. It’s amazing that it’s already March, and I am only with them until December. There are few things that I really want to see happen, and I hope I get to. Learning patience has been a struggle, and I think leaving before I get to see certain results will be difficult. I want to see kids start walking and talking, but if it happens in January I won’t be there. I have to learn to be satisfied the progress I am there to see.
Whoever comes up with the most creative theme name for this site wins 100 million points. This is just for fun, and later I’ll reveal the name I gave it.
Keep it clean
I started a new page for points, and the link is along the bar on top of this. I know points don’t mean anything, but I thought it would be nice to keep a running total.
Whoever can tell me the movie that this quote is from wins 300 billion points. After someone has guessed the movie, anyone who says they have seen the movie wins 1 billion points.
“I was bit on my finger! It could have been my leg. It could have been my head, I could have died!”
I have had that running through my head all day long, and I can’t make it stop. I haven’t seen this movie since I was probably 9. Weird.
What should his pen name be?
Tonight at dinner Timmy told me that he is writing a book, and asked me if i wanted to read the beginning. He told me what it was going to be about, and it sounded incredible. I can’t type it all out because he doesn’t want someone out in the world to read this and steal everything, but he said I could post a little of the beginning here. I have to say I was surprised when I read it, because I really didn’t think he could write. I know he’s amazing at math and all that stuff, but I thought that meant the creative side of his brain would be … weakened. Apparently not.
What about this magic potion?
This week has been absolutely awful. I have been sick every day except Monday, and I missed work yesterday. Here is a list of the things that I have eaten and kept down since tuesday:
5 crackers
3 magic muffins
one chicken taco
In addition to that, I have drank about 5 cups of hot tea, a few sips of apple juice, and a few sips of water. I feel so incredibly weak, and I think I’ve reached the point that I’ve decided I should probably go to the doctor. It’s Friday though, and the doctor won’t be open until Monday. I guess that means I get to see how the weekend goes.
On Wednesday night my dad and Eddie picked me up and took me to my parent’s house so my mom could take care of me. The air conditioner at my house isn’t working, and Wednesday it was in the 90’s, so I had to get out of here. My mom made me magic muffins and tea, and she got up when she heard me roaming around in the middle of the night to get me juice and medicine. She’s a great mom. I don’t know what I would have done if I had been alone.
I really hope I get better soon. Being sick is really, really annoying.
